2. Review Volume (25%)
A product with thousands of reviews provides more reliable data than one with only a handful. We prefer products with substantial review histories.
3. Availability (20%)
We verify that products are in stock and available for purchase. There's no point recommending something you can't actually buy.
4. Price Value (15%)
We consider whether the product offers reasonable value in its category. We feature options across different price points to suit various budgets.
5. Product Information (10%)
We assess whether the product has complete specifications, clear images, and adequate details for you to make an informed decision.
Senior-Specific Considerations
Beyond our standard criteria, we pay special attention to factors that matter most to seniors:
- Ease of use — Can it be operated with limited grip strength or mobility?
- Stability — Does it provide secure, reliable support?
- Weight capacity — Does it accommodate a wide range of users?
- Assembly — Is setup straightforward?
- Safety features — Non-slip surfaces, secure locking, etc.
What Earns "Top Pick" Status
Products marked as "Top Pick" meet our highest standards:
- 4.4+ star rating
- Strong review volume (typically 500+)
- Excellent value for the category
- Positive feedback specifically from older users when available
Regular Updates
Product quality and availability change over time. We regularly re-evaluate our recommendations to ensure they remain accurate and helpful.
Limitations
We want to be clear about what we don't do:
- We don't physically test every product ourselves
- We rely primarily on verified customer reviews and product data
- We cannot guarantee a product will work perfectly for your specific situation
